What everyone asks first

"So… what do you do?"

People ask it all day at COP. With tens of thousands of people in the halls, you have a few seconds before they move on. Many first-timers freeze, talk too long or leave out what makes their work matter. Their work is strong. Nobody helped them build the sentence.

Three worries first-time delegates often have

"I don't know what to say."

Story Forge asks you five questions. From your answers, in your own words, it helps you build your opening line, a 60-second introduction and a 5-minute panel talk. Where you come from is part of why people will remember you.

"I don't understand half the acronyms."

The COP Decoder explains the short forms and terms in plain English. It also shows who makes decisions at the conference and how the two weeks work, so you can learn before you arrive.

Why this exists

Benjamin Mitchell speaking at a lectern on a conference stage

Many people go home from a UN climate conference with business cards and no next step. I am an Indigenous Australian and Pacific Islander. In 2025, I went to the UN climate conference in Brazil (COP30) as a delegate for Niue. There I met people who carry the future of their communities. They knew their subject well. But no one had shown them how decisions are made, or who to contact after the meeting. I had to learn this on my own. I built COP Ready so you do not have to.

In every room, my first question is: who is missing? Most hard problems I have worked on come down to people: how they talk to each other, and whether they trust each other. Before a community takes money from a funder, I ask three questions. Can the community make its own decisions? Does it own what it brings? Does it control what others learn from it? If the answer is no, more money can make things worse. In a meeting, I listen first. Then I say the real problem out loud. I judge a meeting by what happens next, not by the handshake. This app works the same way. It helps you tell your story clearly and turn each conversation into a next step.

We are against taking from communities and giving nothing back. This means their stories, their data and their money. Your contacts, notes and story belong to you, and you can delete them at any time. We will never take a share of money that a community wins. You can check my record. In September 2026, I gave the opening talk on day two of a UN climate finance meeting in Sydney. I spoke on a panel at a UN meeting for Pacific Indigenous peoples in Fiji. In 2023, I presented my research at the United Nations in New York. I have also helped train senior leaders in the Australian Government.
